Gears of War: E-Day Medals Guide

Understand E-Day's 80-plus medal series, Bronze through Diamond tiers, Coin and cosmetic rewards, and three-medal profile display.

Medals return in Gears of War: E-Day as long-form mastery series inspired by Gears of War 3. More than 80 unique medal series are announced for launch. Each can progress through Bronze, Silver, Gold, Onyx, and a new final Diamond tier.

Medals can award Coins, banners, emblems, and other progression value. Diamond caps a series with an exclusive Player Title, and players can highlight up to three earned medals on their Emblem.

A medal series measures repeated mastery

A medal is not the same as one challenge task. Its progressive tiers ask for harder or larger versions of a specific aspect of play. The exact requirements need the live medal screen; pre-release sources do not list all eighty-plus series.

Choose medals that overlap the modes and roles already being played. A Horde objective medal can progress naturally while a class gains XP. A Versus medal should be pursued without abandoning the active win condition.

Do not turn one visible Beta counter into the launch requirement. Label AppID and build.

Bronze through Onyx establish the classic ladder

Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Onyx return as the familiar hierarchy. A later tier represents deeper completion in the same series, not necessarily a separate task. Read the displayed counter and eligibility rules before planning a route.

Track current value, next target, eligible modes, and whether AI or private practice counts. Do not assume Player vs Bot or Campaign contributes unless the medal screen confirms it.

If progress does not move, verify the correct mode, public build, account, and match completion before submitting a support issue.

Diamond caps the series with a Title

Diamond is the new highest medal level. The official overview says completing it awards an exclusive Player Title for that series.

That makes a Diamond title a visible mastery reward rather than a generic shop label. The requirement still needs the live game, and no page should invent a universal number across all medals.

When sharing completion, name the medal series and date without turning an account achievement into proof of a weapon statistic or matchmaking rank.

Coin and customization rewards

Unlocking many medals awards Coins, with higher medal levels providing more according to the official progression description. Medal Coins are not subject to the weekly cap that applies to Coins earned from match completion.

Medals can also award exclusive banners and emblems. These are customization items, not performance bonuses. An Emblem provides the profile background, while a Banner also marks a squad’s completed Horde objectives in the world.

Record each reward exactly as the result screen presents it. Avoid promising the same reward for every series.

Display up to three medals

Earned medals can be attached to the player’s Emblem, with up to three highlighted. Choose a display for identity—favorite mode, difficult accomplishment, or coordinated visual—rather than expecting a gameplay benefit.

An Icon is a separate unicolor graphic and also becomes the multiplayer mark icon. A Title is a short string below the gamertag. Keep those slots distinct when writing customization instructions.

If the profile does not update, save the change, leave the menu, and verify the multiplayer lobby before reporting it.

Plan medal progress without harming the squad

Select one primary medal and one passive secondary series. Read eligible actions before queueing and tell the squad if a special behavior affects roles. Never extend a lost objective or refuse extraction solely for a counter.

In Horde, collected Weapon Parts still require successful extraction. In Versus, match outcomes drive Ranked Rating. Medal progress should fit those central resources.

Review progress after a completed match rather than leaving early. Ranked also carries quitting penalties.

Document requirements after launch

For every medal tier, capture exact name, description, eligible modes, starting counter, target, reward, completion result, AppID 3010850, and public build. Test whether a mode counts with one clean action rather than assuming.

If a seasonal update adds medal series, label the season. The launch count is over eighty, with more announced for later seasons.

Keep hidden or spoiler-sensitive campaign requirements out of headings. Achievements are a separate system even when both award customization.
