Gears of War: E-Day Cosmetics Guide

Understand E-Day's character skins, universal weapon skin sets, poses, banners, emblems, icons, titles, menu music, and acquisition limits.

Gears of War: E-Day launches with more than 60 character skins across COG and Locust characters, plus weapon skin sets, poses, banners, emblems, icons, titles, and menu music. The customization direction stays centered on Gears’ own characters, world, and tone, with limited named exceptions for partnerships.

Nearly every item can be earned through play. The acquisition method—challenge, achievement, medal, Coins, edition, charity, or partnership—still matters.

Character skins and Campaign unlocks

Every major character and skin appearing in Campaign is announced as unlockable on launch day, with more added in seasons. Some Campaign achievements unlock base characters, while Mastery achievements award Legendary Character Skins.

Skins can be combined with any Horde class, so appearance does not lock the player to Assault, Breacher, Marksman, or Medic. A Locust or COG skin likewise should not be treated as a performance bonus.

Avoid posting a complete roster from trailer silhouettes. Use the live customization name and source.

Weapon skin sets apply broadly

Unlocking or purchasing one weapon skin set gives the full set rather than requiring the same pattern to be acquired again for each individual weapon. The player can apply it to supported customizable weapons.

This is cosmetic coverage, not a Weapon Mod. Horde Weapon Mods can alter functionality, while Versus disables mods. A skin does not establish damage, reload, or projectile changes.

Edition-specific signature Campaign weapons or mods should be documented by their exact product wording instead of being merged into universal multiplayer skin sets.

Poses are presentation, not emotes

Poses appear with the character in Horde and Versus lobbies and in match intro/outro presentation. The Coalition explicitly says poses are not emotes and cannot be triggered during gameplay.

Choose a pose in the appropriate loadout and verify it at the next presentation screen. Do not search for an in-match keybind that the system does not support.

Seasonal challenges can directly award poses, and missed limited rewards can later return through the Barracks after a cooldown.

Banners, Emblems, Icons, and Titles

Banners appear in intros/outros and also mark places where a Horde squad completed an objective and claimed a reward. Emblems are background graphics behind the Steam name or gamertag in lobbies, intros, outros, and scoreboards.

Icons are unicolor graphics shown over the Emblem and used as the player’s multiplayer mark icon. Titles are short equipped strings below the name. Titles are earn-only, including Diamond medal and achievement rewards.

These occupy different profile layers. If one seems missing, check the correct slot before treating it as an entitlement problem.

Menu Music selections change tracks in the main menu and Horde Siege or Versus lobbies. Four choices are announced for launch, including a special instrumental version of Metallica’s “For Whom the Bell Tolls.” More can arrive after launch.

Music selection does not change match audio rules. Verify licensed track availability, streaming options, and regional behavior in the current build rather than assuming.

Partnership content is one of the named paid exception categories, so check the exact acquisition source.

Direct and indirect earning paths

Direct unlocks come from Seasonal and Event Challenges, achievements, and medals. Indirect unlocks use Coins earned from matches, every ten Player Levels, and many medals to select items in the Barracks.

An active challenge or achievement reward cannot be bypassed with Coins or payment. After a limited challenge expires and a cooldown passes, its reward can enter the Barracks for Coins or Iron.

Match Coins have a weekly cap; Player Level and medal Coins do not. This does not make every catalog item free of acquisition limits.

Premium Edition content, charity offers, and partnership items are the three pay-only categories named by the official source. Read the live store before purchase and distinguish a pack entitlement from the base game.

Multiplayer cosmetics are not always canon. Legendary skins can be more imaginative and build on franchise imagery. Do not use an equipped skin as evidence that a character appears in an E-Day campaign scene.

Likewise, a Campaign appearance can inspire a skin without changing the multiplayer class role.

Build a trustworthy item entry

Record item name, type, rarity, acquisition method, active dates, cooldown status, Coin/Iron price if applicable, edition requirement, season, and public build. Include a clean image without exposing account details.

If an item is missing, verify the linked Xbox account, Steam account, correct slot, service status, and official known issues. Beta rewards require the same Xbox account used during the test.

Avoid claiming an unannounced trade or resale system. Cosmetics should be obtained through official entitlement paths.
